The goal of the Kentucky Cannabis Freedom Coalition (KCFC) is to work within the law to change unjust laws.
Since 2014, KCFC has advocated for the civil rights of Kentuckians in regards to medical cannabis access and cannabis reform legislation.
Due to Governor Beshear’s executive order re: medical cannabis for patients with a qualifying condition, the KCFC has decided to create a legal fund for ALL Kentuckians that fall within the guidelines of Governor Beshear’s executive order.
Our goal is to reach $1 million so that funds will be readily available for patient and caregiver legal assistance if needed.
Being a member of KCFC is not a requirement for access to the fund. However, one seeking such assistance must fall within the legal guidelines:
• Cannabis must be bought in the United States of America in a state where the purchase is legal and regulated. Kentuckians will need to keep their receipt.
• The amount a person can purchase and possess at any one time must not exceed 8 ounces, which is the difference between a misdemeanor and a felony in Kentucky.
• Each Kentuckian must also have a certification from a licensed healthcare provider that shows that the individual has been diagnosed with at least one of 21 medical conditions. A copy of the certification must be retained.
GoFundMe is the platform KCFC will be using to provide this support, and KCFC will be overseeing and dispersing the funds as needed.
