RE: Constitutional amendment House bill 225
Dear Representative :
I am a constituent who resides in your district, a person with multiple disabilities, and an advocate for persons with disabilities.
I am asking for your support on the bill listed above.
First, citizens should have the right to use an alternative treatment that gives them the mental and physical relief they deserve without relying on stronger, potentially addictive medicine.
Second, current cannabis statutes have needlessly and tragically ruined many lives.
Third, cannabis de-criminalization would give the state a much-needed source of reliable revenue without raising current taxes.
I know that having a safer, more affordable option for treatment (without fear of penalty) is a move in the right direction. Polls have repeatedly shown most Kentuckians back de-criminalization. Other states taking this step are reaping considerable benefits, and it’s time for Kentucky to show it cares and join them.
To provide an affordable option to healthcare and to successfully increase the quality of life for all Kentuckians, like myself, I am asking for your support.
Sincerely,
